Hi,
I’m Jason.
Born and raised in northeast Tennessee, I’m a finance guy by day and a music nerd at night. Check out my LinkedIn profile for more about my professional life. Outside of work, music has always been my passion. One of my earliest memories was discovering stereo imaging and soundstage precision (although I didn’t know those words) when I was about ten years old – laying in the floor perfectly centered between my parents’ Sony speaker cabinets. Two years later I sold all my Nintendo games to purchase my first 16-channel Peavey mixer. In my adult life, I have continued to refine those skills and now serve as Audio Lead at Grace Fellowship Church. There I am fortunate enough to mix on a DiGiCo SD10 with a lovely d&b audiotechnik PA. For the fellow pro audio nerds, I primarily use Earthworks mics on vocals and drums. DPA headset mics on our speakers and the amazing 4099 on strings. The Neve RNDI is my direct box of choice for bass and keys. Vocal verb is brought to you by a Bricasti M7. Switching to home in listen-only mode, some MartinLogan electrostatic speakers paired with an Emotiva XMC-2 processor was my primary listening gear until I migrated to condo life. Now that gear is in storage and I’m using a nice little pair of Bowers and Wilkins bookshelf speakers powered by my old Rotel power amp. I’m loving the Eversolo DMP-A6 streamer/DAC with the Teddy Pardo power supply. Enough of the rig rundown. I love aviation – would love to get my certificate sometime and will fly every chance I have to do so. K2NWC is my amateur radio callsign. I’m an amateur photographer and love shooting Sony Alpha. It’s just a hobby, but one that challenges me to grow and improve my skills. Within the past year, square dance has become a huge source of fun for me – something I NEVER imagined I would be doing. It’s great physical activity without feeling like boring exercise. It requires enough thought to keep my brain occupied. And the people I have met in class and at conventions have just been incredible – some of my best friends now. I have always been lucky to have the best friends anyone could ask for – many of those friendships are still going strong decades later. Beaches are better than mountains. If it swims, I’ll eat it. Politically, I lean (lower-case l) libertarian and believe there is lots of opportunities for a more moderate third way where our legislators look for common ground where we can work together and bring about change for good. I’m unapologetically opposed to capital punishment for a number of reasons – reach out if you’d like to have that conversation. I fundamentally believe that people could use lots more grace and understanding. It’s important to recognize the difference between a problem and an inconvenience. We’re better together. We’re called to love others – not judge them, not fix them, not persuade them or change them – just love them. I’ve spent lots of time in Washington, DC and the entire NoVA area. Safe to say that’s my favorite region on Earth. I’m a bad golfer, but I enjoy it.
Oh, and most importantly – I’m kinda crazy about Rosie.
